SUWANEE, Ga. -- The Georgia SPCA will hold a 5K "Run for the Rescues" race this weekend to help save homeless pets.

The race will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 24 and will be held at the Suwanee Town Center Park in the heart of the city. Runners can even bring their dogs to participate with them.

There is still plenty of time to register for the race; the cost is $25, which includes a T-shirt (while supplies last) and bandanas for the dogs who run.

For those who decide not to run, there will still be plenty of activities for the whole family -- on-site pet adoptions and $25 micro-chipping, vendors and more.

Last year's Run for the Rescues raised more than $14,000, and organizers hope to rake in even more cash for homeless animals this year.

Visit the Georgia SPCA website for more information, including how to register for the race.
