Dentist to 'buy' Halloween candy for troops

SUWANEE, Ga. -- A Gwinnett County dentist is purchasing children's Halloween candy for a good cause.

Dr. Bill Williams of Suwanee Dental Care will buy candy for $1 per pound all day on Friday, Nov. 1.

The candy he collects will be donated to Operation Gratitude, an organization that creates care packages for overseas military.

"Kids can still have all of the fun of trick-or-treating, but now their piggy banks will benefit as well," Dr. Williams said in a statement.

Suwanee Dental Care will accept candy during business hours on Nov. 1. All donations must be unopened.

The office is located at 4355 Suwanee Dam Road.

The Halloween candy buy-back effort was started by Wisconsin dentist Dr. Chris Kammer. Learn more at halloweencandybuyback.com.
