SUWANEE, Ga. -- Last year, over 100,000 adoptable pets were euthanized in Metro Atlanta.

The Georgia SPCA is determined to make sure that shelter animals do not see the same fate in 2011.

In order to raise money for pets that need homes, the Suwanee-based Georgia SPCA will hold "You Ain't Nothin' but a Pound Dog," its second annual 50s-themed benefit bash, on Saturday, June 11.

Tickets are $75 each and promise a fun-filled evening featuring live entertainment from Elvis impersonator Cliff-E, a silent auction, a vintage car show and great food from Proof of the Pudding.

The fun begins at 7 p.m. in the Gwinnett Center Ballroom (6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, 30097). Guests are asked to dress in "smart casual" attire, although those who are feeling daring are welcome to wear classic 1950s clothes.

The money raised by "You Ain't Nothin' but a Pound Dog" will go to the Georgia SPCA's mission to implement successful adoption programs, offer low cost spay/neutering, and promote responsible pet ownership through community education initiatives.
