Bank of America Customers Get Free Museum Day on Jan. 1 & 2

Not getting enough culture in your life? Let Bank of America’s Museums on Us® program enhance your cultural enrichment in the New Year. Through the program, cardholders receive free admission to some of the best cultural venues in the nation on January 1 and 2. As part of Museums on Us, now in its 14th season, more than 140 leading U.S. cultural institutions, including museums, historical sites, science centers and zoos, open their doors for free to bank cardholders on the first full weekend of each month.

Come to Gwinnett County's 23rd Annual Lighting of the Tree

Atlanta, GA--  The Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation and the Lawrenceville Tourism & Trade Association host the 23rd Annual Lighting of the Tree on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in downtown Lawrenceville.   Enjoy a variety of holiday entertainment beginning at 5 p.m., including live musical entertainment from The Class Act Band, face painting, dance performances, and of course the arrival of Santa Claus in a vintage fire truck on loan from the Winder Fire Department.

The annual lighting of the tree ceremony, begins at 6 p.m., and the much awaited arrival of Santa is at approximately 6:45 p.m.

The holiday fun continues throughout December at Holiday on the Square at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse as the Santa Trolley once again rolls into the square on December 3, 4 and 5 from 5:00-8:00 pm, where children can ride along with the jolly ole elf.

Chanukah candles to Light up Historic Downtown Norcross this Holiday Season

Atlanta, GA--  On December 1st, 2010, Chabad of Gwinnett will light the sky of Norcross with a public 10-foot Grand Menorah erected in Historic Downtown Norcross.  Rabbi Yossi Lerman, director of Chabad of Gwinnett, will light the Chanukah candles.  The menorah lighting ceremony will be followed by a celebration with dancing, singing and eating the traditional Chanukah treats of hot latkes and doughnuts. The eight-day Jewish festival of Chanukah begins on Wednesday, December 1 this year, and this event kicks off the community-wide observance. 

Immediately following the Grand Menorah lighting is a Chanukah party at the Iron Horse Tavern in Norcross. This party is for adults in the community.

Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center Sponsors 'Green Halloween', Fun for All

Atlanta, GA--  As the leaves begin to fall and the crisp, cool air of autumn takes its hold on Georgia, the woods of the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center (GEHC) come alive at night!

Come experience the wonders of nocturnal animals and their amazing adaptations at the Creatures of the Night Festival on October 23, 2010.  The event starts at 2:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM.

Local playwright and producer Yvette Suhailah West uses life experiences to show us “more than one” way to live and love in the name of marriage.  The play is energetic, emotional, and informative!

Free Family Festival: Suwanee Day 2010

Atlanta, GA--  Everyone is invited to join the celebration of community at Suwanee Day Festival. The festival is a fun for the whole family event including parade, arts and crafts vendors, music and performances, children’s activities, street performers, farmers market and a variety of food and beverage vendors located at the new Town Center Park and Amphitheater.

Concert in the Quarry 2010 to Benefit School Art, Music Programs

SUWANEE, GA -- Georgia's only concert event held 300 feet below ground, Concert in the Quarry, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Martin Marietta Forsyth Quarry (3561 Peachtree Parkway, Suwanee, 30024).

Headline acts include Joe Gransden and his Big Band with Big Mike Geier in this fifth annual fundraising event that will benefit Forsyth County’s middle and high school arts and music programs. Master of ceremonies will once again be Scott Slade, host of Atlanta's Morning News on AM750 and now 95.5FM, Newstalk WSB. A special performance by Simple Alliance from Music Matters’ Rock U will start the concert, and a spectacular fireworks show will close it.
