SPCA is hosting its 1st Annual Run for the Rescues; 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

Suwanee, Ga.--  (submitted by GA SCPA)  The Georgia Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is hosting its 1st Annual Run for the Rescues 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, March 26, 8:30 am, Suwanee Town Center Park. 

All of the proceeds go to support the Georgia SPCA Animal Shelter at 1175 Buford Hwy, Suite 109, Suwanee. 

We expect 400 runners for this event.  We have over 40 vendors and Publix is our Platinum sponsor for this first race. 

We will have all of our dogs out there for adoption, plus the Second Chance Greyhounds Rescue, English-Bulldog Rescue of Georgia, The Gwinnett Humane Society Rescue groups.  Please come support us.

Rabies Alert in Suwanee and Gwinnett County

Rabies Alert in Suwanee and Gwinnett County

Suwanee, GA--  There has been a report that a cat was found on Scales Road in Suwanee, with rabies.  Residents are asked to keep their pets inside for the time being and to report any stray/strange animals in the woods to 911.

The Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GA SPCA) also suggests all pets should be vaccinated for rabies, and offers the vaccination for just $10 when pets are also sprayed and neutered.  More information can be bound at www.GeorgiaSPCA.org

Georgia SPCA Holds First Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest and Pet Parade in Suwanee

Atlanta, GA--  The Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Georgia SPCA) is holding its First Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest and Pet Parade at its Pet Adoption Center at 1175 Hwy 23 (Buford Hwy) in Suwanee on Halloween Sunday, October 31, from 1 - 3 PM.

Atlanta, GA--  Because we find it almost impossible to resist a cute dog, we—with help from our friends at Pets in the Sity—asked our users to submit their favorite photos of their pets. Suwanee SPCA Celebrates the Expansion of its Pet Adoption Center this Saturday, Sept. 25th

Atlanta, GA--  The Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Georgia SPCA) is celebrating the expansion and remodeling of its Pet Adoption Center at 1175 Hwy 23 (Buford Hwy) in Suwanee with an Open House for the public on Saturday, September 25. The event will take place from 11 AM - 7 PM and will include family entertainment, food, and an opportunity to meet athletes from the Atlanta Chiefs football team. Music, raffles, face painting and a moonwalk will add to the festivities, along with tours of the renovation. Dog trainers will be available to provide pointers on pet obedience, and the Georgia SPCA will microchip pets for a $25 donation.

Atlanta, GA--  Do you have the cutest dog in Atlanta?  Everyone thinks their pup is the cutest, but now it's time to put your pooch to the test!  Submit your dog’s photo for the Metromix Atlanta's Cutest Dog Contest! Entries will be accepted until September 26, 2010.  Here’s the link to enter: www.atlanta.metromix.com/cutestdogcontest . 

Out of all the entries received, Metromix will select four groups of 25 dogs to compete for a spot in the finals.  The top two dogs in each group with the most votes will move on to the finals and compete for the grand prize.
