Local organization offers free pet sterilization
News

DULUTH, Ga. -- Planned PEThood of Duluth is now offering free feral cat sterilizations for local pets.

The organization said they will give 1,000 sterilizations for cats in the 30096 area code. It receives grant funding and donations to offer pet sterilizations, either free or low-cost to community pet owners.

"We really want to see citizens caring for cats in zip code 30096 take advantage of these free spay/neuter surgeries to help reduce the free-roaming cat population in Duluth," Co-Director Lynette Purves said.

No appointments are necessary for free-roaming cats, and they can be brought to Planned PEThood Monday through Friday, at 8 a.m.

All cats will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and receive an eartip.

Planned PEThood is located at 2860 Buford Highway. Residents can call (678) 561-3491 for more information.
