Suwanee, GA--  (submitted by the City of Suwanee)

The update to the City of Suwanee’s Alternative Transportation Plan is nearly complete. Working with transportation planners from Pond and Company and incorporating citizen feedback obtained through two public meetings, the City has completed a draft of recommendations for projects and prioritization. Before finalizing the updated plan, the City is seeking citizen input and comments on the proposed projects.

Residents are invited to review the draft Alternative Transportation Plan and provide feedback by January 21 to Planning and Inspections Director Josh Campbell at jcampbell@suwanee.com or 770/945-8996.

Projects on the list include sidewalks to fill gaps in the City’s network, intersection modification along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, additional trails, and share-the-road signs and markings. The projects are prioritized with some expected to be implemented in the coming year and others scheduled out as far as 2030.

“Ultimately,” says Campbell, “the goal of our updated Alternative Transportation Plan is to create better connections and move our community closer to truly being walkable and accessible to bicyclists.”
